I was provided a sample for review purposes. All thoughts are honest and come from my experience with the product.
I have recently received this package from Aesthetica and it included all these nice goodies (toys) for me to play and create with. This one right here is the Aesthetica Powder & Cream Contour Powder. I've heard good things about Aesthetica so I was definitely excited to give these a whirl! Woo hoo! Make up is my life! 😁😁😁
These contour palettes are so nice and compact, sleek packaging, and it does include a mirror. I really like that, so you can definitely bring it with you in your purse when you feel you might need a little touch up.
Coming up first in this Contour Series is the Cream Palette.
Comes with 6 different contouring shades which are as follows:
- Heiress (highlight)
- Chandelier (highlight)
- Wanderlust (highlight)
- Honey Love (contour)
- Summer Nights (contour)
- Chic Parisian (contour)
I found these for my face type - nice and creamy, easy to blend, not drying at all. I did not encounter any issues. Glided on nicely with my concealer brush. I really like when a cream contour is nice to apply. But, if you do find it a bit dry you can add one drop of your beauty oil of your choice. I usually add 1 drop of jojoba or rosehip oil to my other cream palettes. If you want a dewy look I suggest you do this too. If you do not want to apply directly to the cream you can do so on your brush or on those mixing palettes.
I really liked getting to play around with this one, I have been trying different color combos to get the shades that accentuate my face shape. Generally you are supposed to chose a shade that is 2 -3 shades darker than your skin tone. What you want to do is brighten and draw light to the center of the face. Shade the areas you want to look defined and slimmed down.
Next up in this Contour Series is the Powder Palette -
Comes with 6 different contouring shades which are as follows:
- Cameo (highlight)
- Radiance (highlight)
- Glow (highlight with very little shimmer)
- Sunkissed (contour)
- Picture Perfect (contour)
- Flawless (contour)
This powder pallet comes with a little booklet that has instructions and a step by step guide.
It also has a face shape diagram that shows different face shapes and gives you an idea how you should contour according to your face shape! So whether you have an oval of heart face shape, this will guide you to enhancing you best features on your face.
As always, it great to begin with a clean moisturized face, make sure you use some primer. Apply your foundation that you normally use and if you also use cream contour do this before applying any powders to your face. If you are applying this on top of your cream contour it will set, use your favorite setting powder before this too.
It's fairly easy to get the hang of this, best tip is just practice. Do your makeup everyday and play around to see what will suit your face type. When you think you've found your perfect contour stick with it and nail it down. Remember practice makes perfect. BUT! Please ladies BLEND - blending is your best friend. Blend away any harsh lines, make sure it all meshes well together to achieve that flawless look.
My opinion on this powder pallet is that the colors are nicely pigmented. I did notice some fall out but it's not a deal breaker for me. Remember when putting it on start with a little and build your way up. Don't just rub back and forth cause that will give you a harsh line and you will need to blend blend blend. So if you are a beginner and you want to start playing with contour and highlight you can totally start with this. You can also look for these Aesthetica contour and highlight palettes on Amazon. Sometimes the prices do vary.
Want to give the best present to your make up loving love one? You can go wrong with these! Really, they would be so excited!
